"it's a small world"

Description from PassPorter's Disneyland Resort and Southern California Guidebook:

“It’s a world of laughter, a world of tears...” Yes, these are Disney’s famous singing and dancing dolls, who first debuted their act at the 1964–65 New York World’s Fair. Their catchy song by the legendary Sherman Brothers adapts to the local surroundings as your boat floats sedately past scenes depicting the world’s continents and cultures. You’ll be either charmed or bored by the rich costumes and details. Renovated several years ago, it now features a “Spirit of America” scene and 29 new Disney and Pixar characters integrated seamlessly among the various existing scenes. This ride becomes a jolly winter wonderland between Thanksgiving and mid January, which is beloved even by people who don't normally enjoy this ride. Short to medium waits (longer when the holiday show is up). Must transfer from ECV to wheelchair to ride. Work is being done at this attraction to relocate the queue and adjust the parade route in preparation for the opening of "Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge" in 2019.

What PassPorter Readers Think of "it's a small world" (10 comments):

I have always loved the exterior with the clock tower and the Parade of Nations at each quarter hour! The attraction is enchanting and the addition of classic and more recent Disney characters has increased its appeal for me, especially when I listen closely to hear the subtle musical overlay that accompany each character. A very nice way to get out of the sun for 15 minutes!

The best way to torture your teenage children. Go early so that song gets stuck in their heads.

While most older people dread this ride, we always look forward to riding this over and over and over, kinda like the sound track. We will sing it for hours.

This is a classic! It brings me back to my childhood every time I ride it. Plus it is a nice break from the heat or to get off your feet.

It's a classic! A must ride on a first visit. The addition of Disney characters throughout the ride is tastefully done and fits well with the original attraction while adding something extra and fun for kids to search for during the ride.

Definitely fun, but the song can be a tad obnoxious.

Great for the young and the young at heart. Also great in the summer to get away from the heat.
