Disneyland Monorail |
Ah, who doesn’t recognize this classic icon of Disneyland? You can board the monorail here in Tomorrowland to get one-way transportation to Downtown Disney. If you get off at Downtown Disney and plan to return to the park, visitors with single-day passes need to get a handstamp. The outdoor queue is both covered and uncovered, and the waits aren’t too bad until dinnertime and the last hour or so of the day. This was America’s first monorail to operate on a daily basis back when it was introduced in 1959 as the Mark I system. The current Mark VII system features a sleek retro design and enhanced seating. Wheelchair and stroller friendly. For more details, see 1053.

Rode it for the first time in years a few months ago. No air conditioning, stuffy inside. I loved it. You forget anything negative once your riding the famous Disneyland monorail.

We always wait to ride up front, even if we have to let 2-3 monorails go by.

Great way to take a break or go from the park to Downtown Disney.

If you never rode the monorail, I would say ride it so you can say you rode it. It's not a "must do" for my family, there are other more interesting rides that we'd rather spend the time doing. It does make a good ride if you are tired of walking though and you get good views of the park.
