Space Mountain/Hyperspace Mountain

Description from PassPorter's Disneyland Resort and Southern California Guidebook:

Space Mountain thrills “astronauts” with an ultra-smooth ride, special effects, digital technology, an awesome soundtrack, and an integrated audio sound system. This fast, indoor, 2/3-mile ride with its sudden turns and short drops in the dark is a real crowd-pleaser. There are no big, stomach-in-your-throat drops—the darkness makes it seem more intense. Many prefer the Disneyland version to the ride at Magic Kingdom in Florida. The indoor queue and loading areas are rich with visual detail. The Hyperspace Mountain overlay includes Star Wars theme music and a briefing by Admiral Ackbar.Classic Space Mountain returns June 1, 2017 (but Hyperspace Mountain is expected to return in late 2017).In the past, it has transformed into spooky Ghost Galaxy before Halloween. Get a FASTPASS, use the single rider line, or face long waits. Rider swap available. Must transfer from wheelchair. Adult supervision. Health warning.

On the must do list every visit. The new Hyperspace overlay is good, however space mountain stands can stand on it's own and really doesn't need Star Wars.

Maybe the best ride in Disneyland. One of the reasons I have to switch from Florida to California every so often.

Absolute Must Do if you like roller coasters! Try to get it early in the day and you might be able to ride it more than once.

A must do for all. A fast ride in pitch black 'space'. Might scare the younger ones and there is a minimum height for this ride, so make sure your kiddos measure up before promising them the ride (I speak from experience here). Fastpass or get there early.
