Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail |
Animal lovers will stroll enthralled through this exhibit of African wildlife in an artfully built natural habitat. African birds, hippos, meerkats, and a troop of gorillas make their home here. Hands-on exhibits in the naturalist’s hut add interest. A habitat—the Endangered Animal Rehabilitation Centre—calls attention to the African bushmeat crisis. The meerkat viewing area is especially popular, and plan to spend extra time in the aviary. Walk slowly or sit, and the wonders will unfold. Allow several hours if you love to watch animals. Early morning or late afternoon is the best time to visit. Wheelchair accessible. Closed captioning. Alex’s KidTip: “The animals can’t get close to you. It’s ok!” Name changed from Pangani Forest Exploration Trail in May 2016.

Yet another way to sneak some education in our family vacation. Funny thing is the kids don't mind and they are enjoying it.

A nice stroll in a shady environment. Lots of animals to see and take pictures of. Love the silverback gorillas. After passing through that exhibit, watch the surrounding forested areas. We have run into gorillas that are not behind the glass. Of course, they are protected from the humans by Disney's hidden barricades but quite lovely to see them outside of the fish bowl!
