Rafiki's Planet Watch (closing October 20) |
This attraction is slated to close October 20, 2018. This is the park’s most remote and most under-appreciated attraction, a must-visit for animal lovers of all ages. Formerly called Conservation Station, it was renamed and jazzed up with live animal encounter shows, more hands-on activities, and visits from Rafiki. The 5-min. walk from the train station to Rafiki’s Planet Watch is interspersed with fun, conservation-themed exhibits and activities. See short films, use interactive video displays, and relax in darkened rain forest “soundscape” booths. View the park’s nursery and veterinary hospital. Enjoy the cleanest, most animal-friendly petting zoo anywhere (it even has a hand-washing fountain at the exit). The Wildlife Express Train from Harambe is the only way into or out of Rafiki’s Planet Watch. Wheelchair accessible. Assistive listening. Too far away from everything for a simple petting zoo. Kids got bored after just a few minutes.

The kids love being able to touch animals in the petting zoo and inside with the handlers. And possibly the only place to meet Jiminey Cricket.

Cleanest petting zoo I've ever seen! Brushes available for the kids. Unique character greetings!

It is a good educational exhibit. The baby animals are so cute and lots of interaction with the cast members and animals.
