Description from PassPorter's Walt Disney World Guidebook:

This new signature restaurant opened May 2016 on Discovery Island, behind Pizzafari. Open for both lunch and dinner, you'll find an upscale, diverse menu of African, Asian, and Indian foods. Menu choices include lobster-popcorn thai curry soup ($13), grilled heads-on prawn ($37), pomegranate-lacquered chicken ($36), and the Tiffins signature bread service with pomegranate olive oil, Tadka, black-eyed pea hummus, Zhough yogurt ($10). The food is delicious and the atmosphere is more refined than other eateries at the park, but Jennifer did not find the experience otherwise remarkable during her visit in June 2017. Alexander liked his scallops, but thought the portion was very small. A new fixed-price lunch is now being offered from 11:00 am to 3:30 pm, during which you can choose between two entrees, and either an appetizer or a dessert (appetizers are Apple Walnut Salad or Spiced Chickpea Falafel; entrees are Wagyu Beef Tagine, Paella, or Roasted Chicken Breast. Dessert are South American Chocolate Ganache and Guava Mousse). This fixed-price lunch is $35 per person, or two Disney Dining Plan credits. Seating is both indoors and outdoors, and it overlooks the the river (but does not offer a view of the new Rivers of Light nighttime spectacular). The restaurant is named after a “tiffin,” which is an Indian-English word for those typically silver, stacked containers used to carry food while traveling.

What PassPorter Readers Think of Tiffins (3 comments):

I dined here last month after enjoying a couple of drinks in Nomad Lounge (which I highly recommend). I shared four appetizers with a friend in lieu of ordering an entree. Two of the four were amazing--the crudo and the octopus. We also tried the black eyed pea fritters and the bread service, which were only ho-hum. The chocolate ganache for dessert was pretty good. There's a big similarity between Tiffins and both Skipper Canteen and the bar food at Jock Lindsey's, so if you are a fan of those places (I am) you'll like Tiffins. The location was super quiet and out of the way (until Avatar land opens, anyway) and the ambiance was perfect, if a bit darkly lit (much like Animal Kingdom Lodge). My recommendation is: a great spot to use dining credits, but if you are eating out of pocket, maybe just have a snack in the lounge.

Our experience here was amazing! Loved the atmosphere, the food was delicious, and the service was exceptional! We had the JB Show Dining Package, but too bad the shows were canceled for the night we were there, due to bad weather. Still, use of the DDP TS credit x 2 was worth it for us, just for the food!
