The Hollywood Brown Derby |
The famous Brown Derby, complete with “stars,” serves enticing starters like oyster brie soup ($11), crab cakes ($16), and the yummy and original Cobb Salad ($11/$18). Entrees include lamb duo ($43), duck confit salad ($37), and pork three ways ($37). Dessert is your choice of three mini desserts for $10 (such as chocolate sphere, banana toffee cake, and grapefruit cake). Kids’ entrees with drink are $7–$15. The Brown Derby is the Studios’ most elegant establishment. Off-white walls covered with caricatures of the stars, dark wood trim, crisp, white table linens, and attentive, formal service set the tone. Hollywood “personalities” may jazz up the show. An outdoor lounge with walk-up only seating is also available (menu is different). This restaurant offers some special meals—for information on the Fantasmic! Meal Package, see below; for the Dine with an Imagineer experience, see 5827.

PassPorter's Ratings for The Hollywood Brown Derby
Author Jennifer Marx's Rating:
Food was very good and loved the old "Hollywood" atmosphere

We eat here every trip. The atmosphere is really relaxing and nice. I am not fond of the kids menu for 2 dining credits. I would like to see something nicer like a steak for them. It is a good meal. This is a must do for my husband. If it came down to choosing I would rather do Sci- Fi or 50's prime time.

We go to Hollywood Studios just to eat at The Brown Derby. It's a perennial favorite!

Ate here on the dining plan trying to burn up some credits. Had the cobb salad and the grapefruit cake and neither left a real impression on me (this was 11 years ago) so I guess I can say I was underwhelmed. We usually prefer Sci-Fi or 50's Primetime over this for the "fun" factor, but we would definitely choose this if we were doing a Fantasmic dining package!

Expensive, but worth it. We always enjoy eating here

Great meals in the restaurant, but one of the best meals I've ever had was outside in the Lounge (outdoor seated area). The Waygu beef sliders were incredible! Those and a lovely glass of wine, my good friend and cool weather made for one of my best Disney memories.

I was lucky enough to eat at the original in Hollywood before it closed. This brings back memories.

Food choices and quality was excellent - including reserved area passes for Fantasmic show. The show equally awesome, fabulous and well beyond expectations. ONLY minor problem was on evening of Thursday June 9th the movie projections were slightly out of focus and was a big minus.

This is one of our favorite restaurants. Service is usually exceptional and the food is very good. A little noisy, but a good meal.

The outdoor lounge is a hidden gem that is usually not crowded.
