Disney's Hollywood Studios |
This park’s 154 acres spotlight the golden era of Hollywood and the glamorous silver screen. It’s located southwest of Epcot and is connected to Epcot by Friendship boats and walkways. Disney’s Hollywood Studios was renamed from Disney-MGM Studios in January 2008 (and may get yet another name change again soon). Big changes are in store for this park as it adds two new areas: Toy Story Land (summer 2018) and Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge (late fall 2019).
Tinseltown never looked so good. All the glamour, glitz, and pageantry of Hollywood come out to greet you at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Disney’s rendition of Hollywood Boulevard is done up in 1930s art deco architecture, and an old-fashioned water tower (complete with Mickey ears) sets the stage. Disney’s Hollywood Studios gives you a behind-the-scenes glimpse at movie-making as well as an opportunity to get involved in shows and tours. Celebrities may put in live appearances at Disney’s Hollywood Studios as well, complete with a procession down Hollywood Boulevard and a handprint ceremony. The whole effect is of being a special guest at a major movie studio in the heart of Hollywood.
