2016 Candlelight Processional Narrators and Dinner Packages Announced

The Candlelight Processional is a re-telling of the Christmas story by a celebrity narrator, accompanied by the full choir and orchestra. It takes place three times per night (5:00, 6:45 and 8:15 p.m.) from November 25-December 20, 2016. The current lst of narrators (subject to change):
11/25-27 – Steven Curtis Chapman
11/28-12/1 – Neil Patrick Harris
12/2-12/3 – Whoopi Goldberg
12/4-12/12 – TBA
12/13-12/15 – Meredith Vieira
12/16-12/18 – TBA
12/19-12/21 – Joe Morton
12/22-12/27 – TBA
12/28-12/30 – Cal Ripken, Jr.

This year, in addition to lunch and dinner packages, breakfast options are available at some Epcot restaurants including The Garden Grill. Breakfast, lunch and dinner options are also available this year at Captain’s Grille at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, with breakfast and dinner options being offered at Trattoria Al Forno at Disney’s BoardWalk. Candlelight Dining Packages for breakfast start at $27 plus tax per person for adults and $14 plus tax per person for children, ages 3-9. Candlelight Dining Packages for lunch and dinner start at $47 plus tax per person for adults and $20 plus tax per person for children, ages 3-9.

Frontera Cocina Now Open in Disney Springs

Frontera Cocina, Rick Bayless' new Mexican restaurant in Disney Springs, is now open for walk-up dining only. Advanced dining reservations are currently being accepted for July 21 and beyond on OpenTable.com. There is also a take-out window available daily from 11:00 am - 11:00 pm. Dining reservations are not yet available through Disney's dining system.

Catch a Sneak Peek of 'Pete's Dragon' at Disney Park Beginning July 1

Guests visiting "One Man's Dream" at Disney's Hollywood Studios, and the Sunset Showcase Theater at Disney California Adventure, will be able to get a preview of scenes from the upcoming Disney release, "Pete's Dragon." Previews begin on July 1, 2016, and the movie opens nationwide on August 12, 2016.

Reservations Available For Dining and Dessert Parties at Holiday Events

Dessert parties will be available for both Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party and Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party this year. Reservations are now available for the "HalloWishes Fireworks Dessert Premium Package" and the "Wishes Fireworks Dessert Party." Dinner reservations are also available at The Crystal Palace, Be Our Guest, and Cinderella's Royal Table for party nights. Reservations can be made online or by calling 407-WDW-DINE.

La Cantina de San Angel Now Serving Breakfast

La Cantina de San Angel in the Mexico pavilion at Epcot's World Showcase will now begin serving breakfast at 9:00 am. (The Mexico and Norway pavilions will now open at 9:00 am, in order to accommodate the crowds for the new Frozen attraction and character meet in Norway, now open.) The menu includes four items - Chilaquiles con Huevos (fried eggs with corn tortillas and green tomatillo sauce), Tamal Verde con Huevos (scrambled eggs, corn dough with chorizo, and green tomatillo sauce), Pambazo de Chorizo con Huevo (a roll filled with scrambled eggs, chorizo sausage, cheese, and guacamole), and a Kids option - Huevos Revueltos (scrambled eggs topped with cheese and a side of breakfast potatoes).

The Plaza Restaurant Moves to Limited, Same-Day Dining Reservations

The Plaza Restaurant at the Magic Kingdom is moving to a "walk-up only" reservation policy. All existing advanced dining reservations will be honored.

Changes Coming to the Dining Plan in 2017

According to the Walt Disney World website, all Dining Plans will now include two snack credits per person, per night. The quick service credit now includes an entree and a non-alcoholic beverage, the dessert is being removed. The dessert IS still included in your table service credit for lunch and dinner. The Platinum and and Premium plans have been discontinued for 2017.

Walt Disney World to Begin Booking 2017 Magic Your Way Packages on June 21, 2016

Walt Disney World began accepting reservations for 2017 packages (up to 499 days in advance) on June 21, 2016. Reservations can be made online at disneyworld.com, by calling 407-939-1936, or by contacting your favorite Travel Agent.
