This year's Epcot International Food & Wine Festival has a fun new offering aimed at families -- making sushi from candy! Twice daily at 3:30 and 5:30 pm at Sunshine Seasons (in The Land), guests are provided with the materials to make several different sushi candy treats. This activity is free, but you must register in advance and space is limited. Register at http://www.tasteepcot.com. The new event is sponsored by Skittles candy, through a partnership with Adventures by Disney.

IllumiNations Show to be Replaced in 2019

After almost 20 years, IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth is set to close in 2019. It will be replaced immediately after closure by a new show, though details on the new show have not been announced yet.

New Hotel Tower for Swan and Dolphin

In 2020, the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin hotel will build a new 349-room tower at the current site of the Swan's tennis court. The new tower will also have additional meeting space, a 75-seat restaurant, a 50-seat lounge, a full-service health club, and an elevated deck with fire pit and pool.

New Storybook Dining Experience at Artist Point

Beginning this winter, guests can enjoy a special Snow White-themed character dining experience at Artist Point, located in Disney's Wilderness Lodge Resort. This "Storybook Dining at Artist Point" will immerse diners in an Enchanted Forest-like setting inspired by Disney’s “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" animated move. During the meal, Snow White, Dopey and Grumpy will visit with guests, while music and other activities will bring the fairytale to life. You'll even have the opportunity to meet up with Snow White's nemesis, The Queen. The menu is prixe fix and will include appetizers, a choice of entrees, and dessert. Pricing and opening date has not yet been revealed, but is expected soon.

Cantina Details Released for Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge

The "watering hole" in the Black Spire Outpost at Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge now has a name -- Oga's Cantina! The cantina will offer otherworldly beverages in unusual drinking vessels. There will also reportedly be Star Wars-style characters hanging out at the cantina, including Stormtroopers. And what's a cantina without entertainment? Rex the StarSpeeder 3000 droid (the infamous pilot from Star Tours) will offer music and comedy while guests relax. Oga's Cantina will open in 2019 at both Walt Disney World and Disneyland!

Kringla Bakeri og Kafe Reopens WIth More Space

The popular bakery in Norway at Epcot -- Kringla Bakeri og Kafe -- reopened this weekend after a refurbishment. The updated bakery is now twice the size it was with an enhanced queue system that allows for a better guest flow. Menu items in the grab-and-go refrigerator include a Norwegian Club ($8.99), Ham and Apple Sandwich ($7.99), Norwegian Chef Salad ($9.99), and Salmon and Egg Bagel ($9.49). Our old favorites -- Rice Cream and School Bread -- are still here along with treats such as Viking Chocolate Mousse, Lefse, Cinnamon (with Raisins), Chocolate, or Sweet with Almond Pretzels, Berry Cream Puffs (with alcohol), Anna's Birthday Cake cupcakes, and Frozen Mini Cupcakes

New Giraffe Born at Disney's Animal Kingdom

On June 29, 2018, Disney's Animal Kingdom welcomed a baby giraffe calf to the savannah! Parents Lily and George gave birth to the new baby giraffe, who was more than five feet tall at birth. The new giraffe is named Aella, which is the name of an Amazon warrior.

Early Morning Magic Expands to Toy Story Land

Beginning September 17, guests can purchase an Early Morning Magic pass for Toy Story Land on select Mondays and Wednesdays from 7;30 to 8:45 am. This pass gives you access to the new Toy Story Land at Disney's Hollywood Studios, including Slinky Dog Dash, Alien Swirling Saucers, and Toy Story Mania!, plus character greetings with Woody, Jessie and Buzz Lightyear. In addition to this access, guests who purchase a pass get a continental breakfast buffet (available until 10:00 am) with yogurt, fruit, pastries, and assorted cereals, as well as your choice of a main dish like fried chicken served with a maple glazed cronut or avocado toast. This special pass is $79 per adult (ages 10 and older) and $69 per child (ages 3 to 9); tax not included. Note that regular theme park admission is ALSO required to use this pass.

Digital Key Now Available at All Disney Resorts

You can now unlock your hotel room door at all Disney resorts using the MyDisneyExperience app. To use the Digital Key feature, go to MyDisneyExperience on your mobile device and tap Reservations. Hold your device close to the door lock and tap the "Unlock Door" icon on the screen. If all goes as it should, your door will unlock and your phone will sprinkle a little virtual pixie dust!

Mickey Mouse turns 90 on November 18, and DIsneyland is planning a fun event to mark the occasion! Disney says the procession will begin at "it's a small world," stop at Sleeping Beauty Castle for a special moment, and then finish up Town Square. Other Mickey Mouse-related events are planned around Disney Parks and Resorts as "the World's Biggest Mouse Party."
