As of November 4, 2018, Disneyland will no longer offer the Jedi Training Academy show in Tomorrowland. This is a sad turn of events, as the show has been around at Disneyland for 10 years and is very popular with families. The show at Disney's Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World is NOT being cancelled.

No New Hotel for Disneyland

Despite closing down an entire section of Downtown Disney to build a new four-star hotel, the LA Times and Orange County Register are reporting that Disneyland is cancelling the construction of said hotel. This is unsurprising given that the new hotel would not qualify for the reduced tax rate in the City of Anaheim, which they believed they would when they first announced the new hotel. I'm not convinced this is the last we've heard of a new hotel at Disneyland, however. I think further developments are yet to come!

The DisneyFoodBlog reported this week that there have been resort-wide food and beverage increases at table-service, counter-service, and snack stands, including some Food and Wine festival booths. The price increases are at both Walt Disney World and Disneyland. For example, regular-sized fountain beverages were $3.29 and are now $3.99 at Casey's Corner, Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe, and Columbia Harbour House (to name a few locations). Other items such as bottled water, slushies, popcorn, pretzels, and churros are seeing price increases as well. Learn more at DisneyFoodBlog.com

Also of significance is that the bathroom amenities (shampoo, conditioner, and body wash) are now in dispensers mounted on the shower wall. Thanks to AllEars.Net for news of this renovation!

The new Star Wars Land (opening in both Walt Disney World and DIsneyland in 2019) will have a Millennium Falcon-themed ride. This we've known for some time. But details were lacking up to now. Now we know that guests will need to complete a mission and fight TIE fighters in the Millennium Falcon. To do this, we'll have access to more than 200 controls onboard the flight. And the mission will be scored in some way, with praise and warnings based on our performance! We even hear that the outcome of your ride could be tied into other attractions or experiences around the parks. How fun is that? You can learn more about the ride in the Target exclusive Blu-ray version of Solo: A Star Wars Story which has a special 13-minute long video called "The Millennnium Falcon: From Page to Park."
