Treasure Hunt on the Seven Seas
This hunt was originally held on December
7, 2000 for our PassPorter Gathering. Below is a description of the hunt, written before
the event.
Here's how it will work: We'll split everyone into two teams (families
get to stay together) and outfit each team with a Polaroid camera and a list of photo
spots to find. Team members will work together to find the locations and then take a
picture to prove they've found it. All locations will be somewhere around the Seven Seas
Lagoon--in the Magic Kingdom, and at the Contemporary, Polynesian, and Grand Floridian
resorts. The catch? Everyone on the team has to be in each picture, or it doesn't count.
The team to get the most qualifying photos and return to the meeting spot wins!
We think our Photo Treasure Hunt will be fun for everyone and it will help everyone get to
know their teammates a little better! Intimate knowledge of Walt Disney World is *not*
required; we'll include locations that require a keen eye, creativity, and a knack for
silliness, as well as some locations that are hard to find.
Registered hunters will meet in the "outside inside" room at Magic Kingdom's
Pecos Bills Cafe and Tall Tale Inn (don't worry, we'll give you specific directions when
you register). We'll be there at 3:00 pm for a late lunch and we encourage hunters to do
the same, as dinner is at 7:45 pm. At 3:30 pm, we'll get everyone organized for the hunt,
and at 4:00 pm it will begin. Jennifer will travel with one team, while Dave goes with the
other (we'll just be along for the ride and laughs, though).
If you want to participate, please fill out our registration form. Please note that there
is a small registration fee per person ($5), which covers the team cameras, a hunt
souvenir for each person, and prizes for the winning team--and everyone gets to take home
one of those group photos! $5 doesn't cover all that, of course--we're chipping in the
rest as a thank-you for being such great readers. You can cancel up to 48 hours in advance
if your plans change.
