All About
michnashHi!
My name is Michelle. I am the "baby" of our family. (I'm the youngest of three
girls.) I don't want to grow up! (And I never will.) I have been a die-hard Disney fan
since my childhood. I used to watch reruns of the Mickey Mouse Club with Annette, Cubby,
and all the gang. When the New Mickey Mouse Club came out (the first New one) I was about
9 or 10 and I dreamed I could be a Mousketeer, too. I first visited Disney World in 1976, when I was 9 1/2 years old. (So, that makes me 36 now!) I still have a "D" ride ticket that I didn't get to use! When my oldest sister was in high school, she got to march in a parade at Walt Disney World! (I didn't get to go on that trip. :( I returned to Florida when I was in high school (1984) with the choir to sing in a contest in Orlando. So I was able to also visit EPCOT and Magic Kingdom then! :) I have returned 8 times since then- the last 7 trips have just been since May 2000! My favorite trip was in May 2000, with my son, who celebrated turning 8 years old while we were there. (You can read my trip report under the forum 'Adventure Reports' in our Message Board.) He became a Disney fan instantly! He is a seasoned veteran Disney World traveler at only 10 years old! One trip we camped at Ft. Wilderness for 3 whole weeks! You can read about that trip here. I was born and raised in Texas. My mother was an elementary teacher before she retired. Since she had summers off, we took a vacation each summer. We drove all over the United States and Canada. We started out camping with a tent and eventually had a trailer. I am proud to say that I have visited all 48 contiguous United States as well as Mexico and Canada. I have been to all of the National Parks located in these states as well. I've also been on two cruises to the Caribbean. I love to travel! I have a teaching degree and now I am an Instructional Technologist. I work with the teachers and the students (elementary level) to teach them how to use the computer as an effective teaching and learning tool. I teach summer courses for the teachers as well. I also write curriculum for our district. I am a single mom of the one son I spoke of earlier. (I also have a dog and a cat.) I love all animals, but especially BIG mice in red shorts! ;) I am happy to be a part of the PassPorter Message Board and I am looking forward to meeting others who share my dream of living the magic at WDW!
