Country)

Barbecue Details: Mickey's Backyard BBQ is an old-fashioned outdoor barbecue at the
River Country pavilion at Fort Wilderness Resort. The barbecue features good ol' Disney characters (Minnie, Mickey, Goofy, Chip and
Dale), knee-slappin' entertainment, carnival games, and line dancing lessons. Vittles include chicken, hot dogs, burgers, ribs, salads,
corn, cole slaw, beans, vegetables, rolls, and watermelon -- all served buffet-style at picnic tables. Price also includes all the
beer, wine, lemonade, and ice tea you care to drink.
Payment: In order to sit
together at the BBQ, we need to make the reservation under one name and pay in advance.
You can pay by credit card or check, but your payment must be received
no later than September 10, 2000. (Note: Do not reserve seats for
Mickey's Backyard BBQ directly through Disney as you will not be
seated with the rest of us.)
Hayride: The Hayride is first come, first serve, departing from near Pioneer
Hall at Fort Wilderness. It fits only 22 people, so out of courtesy to other guests we should limit our number on the hayride to
around 16 people. People who don't or can't do the hayride could see the Electrical Water Pageant from the beach at Fort Wilderness at
9:45 pm. This should also be our fallback plan in the event the hayride fills up before we are able to get seats.
We are not collecting money for the hayride because at this point we
don't know how many of us will be able to ride.
Deadline: Please reserve a spot for the BBQ
with us (see the form to the right) by Wednesday, July 26.
Cancellation:
If you need to cancel, please e-mail
us no later than September 10, 2000.
Getting There:
The barbecue is held in the pavilion near River Country. We will
meet outside the entrance to the pavilion until everyone in our group
has arrived. Please plan to be there no later than 6:00 pm.
(Allow 45 minutes for travel.)
By Boat: Take the Fort Wilderness boat from the Magic Kingdom and
follow the signs to River Country.
By Bus or Monorail: We recommend you take a bus or monorail from
your resort to the Magic Kingdom, then transfer to the Fort Wilderness
boat. Allow 1 to 1.5 hours for travel. (You can also transfer to a Fort Wilderness bus
at the Transportation & Ticket Center if this is more convenient.)
By Car: Take Exit 25 off I-4 and follow signs to the Magic
Kingdom, passing through the toll plaza, then following the signs to
Fort Wilderness and River Country. Parking is available, and a free
shuttle takes you to Pioneer Hall/River Country from there.
