Disneyland Park

You may know it as “Disneyland” or even “The Magic Kingdom,” but we’re going to bet you do know it in one way or another—Disneyland Park has been part of American culture for more than 60 years. This is quintessential Disney—if you do nothing else in Anaheim, visit this park.

Disneyland Park conjures up fantasy, nostalgia, youth, and, most of all, magic. This 85-acre playground attracts visitors of all ages to its bygone boulevards, tropical gardens, Western saloons, and living cartoons. All roads lead to Sleeping Beauty Castle, the crown of the Kingdom. If you’ve been to the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World, this is the jam-packed, souped-up, and slightly more compact version. More importantly, this is the only park that Walt himself built—and you can see his touch everywhere you go.

Construction began in April 2016 on Star Wars: Galaxy's Edg, a 14-acre addition to the northeast corner of this already jam-packed park (see the park map on 2446). The finished land is expected to open in summer 2019. Watch for notes about construction-related closures throughout this section.
