Islands of Adventure is the younger sister park to Universal Studios Florida, having been built in 1999. This theme park focuses on thrill rides in uniquely-themed "islands." Cutting-edge rides, shows and interactive attractions bring your favorite stories, myths, cartoons, comic book heroes and children's tales to life.

Although only a few years had passed since Universal’s first theme park opened for business, the company had clearly learnt a lot in the intervening period, as showcased by the superb attention to detail and immersive themes to be found throughout this park.

This was highlighted with a major new addition to Islands of Adventure, when the Wizarding World of Harry Potter arrived in style, as Hogsmeade, its imposing castle, and a new E-ticket attraction.

Given its heady mix of coasters, thrill rides, and family fun, it’s perhaps no surprise that Islands of Adventure is now at least as popular as the original park, although some would no doubt argue it’s now perhaps the premier park of the two.
